In these pages, you’ll meet a patient grateful for local cancer care thanks to the new Bartlett Oncology Center, new dads participating in free new-parent classes and playgroups through Bartlett Beginnings, and a member of our staff who won a statewide award for infection prevention. You’ll also learn about end-of-year giving opportunities through the Bartlett Foundation and how to prevent flu and eat healthier this holiday season. I am also excited to announce a new, state-of-the- art hospitalist service set to begin in January 2017. At their September meeting, our Board of Directors unanimously approved moving forward with this program. The hospitalist service provides a physician in Bartlett Regional Hospital 24/7 to care for admitted patients who either do not have a local attending physician or whose regular primary care physician admits patients through the hospitalist. There are several valuable benefits to this program, including more specialized inpatient care, faster urgent care, physician familiarity with Bartlett processes and increased patient office visits. Learn more about how our hospitalist service is a great asset for the medical community and the public in the Winter 2017 edition of HouseCalls . Chuck Bill cbill@bartletthospital.org
