Bartlett Regional | HouseCalls | Fall 2017

As I write this, summer is halfway over; by the time you read this, the fireweed will have topped out, children will be back in school and many of us will be dreaming of better weather somewhere. I’d been hoping for a regular voice in HouseCalls for the Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation for a while, and I want to thank Bartlett’s CEO Chuck Bill and Community Relations Director Katie Bausler for their support in making this happen. You’ll now find us on the back page of every issue, providing information about our programs and those who help to make them happen. Today, however, I want to introduce you to the foundation—who we are, what we do and why you’re such an integral part of it. We’re here to help the community The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to provide financial support to Bartlett Regional Hospital. As a municipally owned facility, Bartlett cannot take advantage of funding opportunities available to research, university or for-profit hospitals. Instead, Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation raises funds for needed medical technology and resources to keep Southeast Alaska on the cutting edge of patient care. One such effort is our Baby Box Project, a partnership with Bartlett Beginnings , which provides every new family with a starter kit containing baby clothes, first aid items, educational materials, and, most important, a mattress and blankets that convert the “box” to a “bed.” Inspired by a similar, B a r t l e t t R e g i o n a l H o s p i t a l F o u n d a t i o n 3260 Hospital Drive Juneau, AK 99801 Standard U.S. Postage PAID Portland, OR Permit No. 2901 Connect with us www.facebook.com/BartlettRegionalHospital www.twitter.com/BartlettHosp Provider directory: www.bartletthospital.org/providers Facebook “f”Logo CMYK / .ai Bartlett Regional Hospital nurse Kaity Conrad and newborn Amelia.
