In late January, we lost a beloved member of our nursing team, Stacie Rae Morse, when the Guardian Flight air ambulance she was staffing crashed outside of Kake. You will find a tribute to her from some of her co-workers in this issue. On a much happier note, you will also find an article about the first baby born at Bartlett in 2019 and the great gift Lindy Jones, MD, presented to the family. Spring turns our thoughts to hiking and the outdoors (fishing for me). Some of our staff members share thoughts on how getting outside helps their physical and mental health. On the health care front, we introduce our new medical director of behavioral health, Joanne Gartenberg, MD, and our new psychiatric nurse practitioner, America Gomez.
