The sunshine, the daylight, the flowers are all things for which I’m grateful; in fact, springtime is sort of a warmer weather version of Thanksgiving! I only bring this up because this spring we’re grateful for so many things, such as our new partnership with Tlingit-Haida and the grand opening of Sacred Grounds on the Bartlett Regional Hospital campus. We’ve relocated the Blue Heron Gift Store next to Bartlett Beginnings and, with it, the full- service coffee shop many have asked for over the years. This will be Sacred Grounds’ third location, and one we hope fulfills the coffee and tea cravings of our visitors and staff alike! Hours of operation for the coffee shop are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drop in at Sacred Grounds and Blue Heron Gifts when you’re at Bartlett visiting someone. Offering a wide variety of gifts, from jewelry and greeting cards to toys and balloons, Blue Heron Gifts is a nonprofit shop that supports the Foundation and its mission to enhance and support quality health care at Bartlett. I am so grateful for the shop and the volunteers who staff it. You can contact Blue Heron Gifts directly, 907-796-8429 , if you’d like to join our volunteer team. As long as I’m being grateful, I can’t help but know summer’s coming, which we’ll kick off with our Wildlife & Whale Watching Cruise.
