Here are four types of numbers to know—and to keep an eye on: Participants make a commitment not only to their health but to classes lasting almost a year. At the beginning of the program, meetings are held every week for 12 weeks. After that, they’re spread out for the remaining six months. Lifestyle coaches present new topics at each meeting, including stress and time management, how to get started exercising, heart-healthy foods, food preparation, recipe modification, types of fats in food, and more. Preventive health Health Matters is a part of the national Diabetes Prevention Program developed by the CDC.
