Rainforest Recovery Center basics Residential 3.5 The residential program consists of a 16-bed, co-ed, free-standing facility utilizing a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed approach. This evidence-based treatment is for substance use and many co-occurring mental health disorders. Staff includes psychiatrists, nurses, master’s- and bachelor’s-level counselors, behavioral health associates, case managers and activity therapists. RRC is a physician-led program where all patients receive a psychiatric evaluation and medication management appointments as needed. A discharge plan will be provided to the patient and a discharge summary is available to other providers of the patient’s choosing. RRC treats patients with co-occurring psychiatric, medical and substance use disorders that are often declined by other facilities. We provide a safe, tobacco-free, communal environment where patients learn and practice specific coping skills to stabilize for discharge to a lower level of care. Outpatient Level 1 Office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) is designed for the specific treatment of opioid use disorder. RRC offers buprenorphine or naltrexone in conjunction with counseling, random drug screenings and medication checks (call-backs). In addition to OBOT, RRC offers regular outpatient treatment, providing a one-hour weekly session of individual counseling. Medical and/or behavioral concerns may prevent an applicant from being accepted for this type of treatment. RRC expansion plans RRC is in the design phase of a 3,000- to 4,000-square-foot extension of its current facility. The renovation will include a four-bed detox bay. Patients currently detox in the main hospital. COMMUNITY BUILDING: Behavioral Health Assistant and Program Activities Supervisor Houston Laws as the RRC mascot, Narwhal. www.bartletthospital.org 7
