Bartlett Regional | House Calls | Spring 2020

Bartlett Regional Hospital’s first baby of 2020 was born on Jan. 1, 2020, at 3:45 a.m. at the Bartlett Beginnings Birth Center. A daughter, Ronarielle Poloa-Maae, was born to parents Marcella Poloa and Ronnie Maae, of Juneau. Ronarielle, who joins big brother R.J., 18 months, weighed 7.5 pounds and measured 20 inches. Marcella says it’s exciting being the mother of Bartlett’s first baby of the year and decade. The Poloa-Maae family is the third family to receive what is becoming a Bartlett Beginnings tradition for the first baby of the year: the gift of a hand- wrought mahogany-maple rocker boat filled with baby clothes, toys and other goodies for families of newborns. The rocker is a few feet long and big enough for years of playtime. The carpenter is Dr. Lindy Jones, who delivered babies for years at Bartlett Beginnings until retiring as a physician at Valley Medical. He now works in the emergency department.
